Reading this history has made me feel very old. I remember Miss Cates when I attended the infant and junior schools between 1938 and 1944. Air raid warning drills when we would all file over the grass to the air raid shelters, carrying our gas masks. Then to Irene Avenue and Mr A.G.E.Russell. Wonderful days.
I remember Les Banham and his brother Eric they used to support Charlton
athletic I believe he was in merchant navy for a while he was at school with me
and the Nixon sisters Cyril Morris
